Hypothesis: What I think will happen. The celery might not be floppy anymore. The celery might change colour because the celery will suck the colour up like a Mc Donald’s drink. Some people in our class think we can hear the sucking up of the coloured water and some people don’t think so. Procedure: What we did. 1.Miss Coker put the celery into a glass of coloured water.
Then we thought about what might happen to the celery and coloured water.
We wrote some of these ideas down. Claire thought about what we can do to tell if the celery drank up the water. Miss Inglis and Claire put stickers to show where the water level began.
We wondered if the celery would make a noise when it drank up the water. Miss Coker wondered if it would sound like sipping her drink at Mc Donald’s.
We took a photo of the celery so we could see what was different.
Results: What happened? What did we see? The water level changed. the celery in the red dye is starting to turn red. The celery in the blue dye is starting to show. The celery is less floppy. We couldnt hear the plant drinking the water.
